#R1# Muslim throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smathers looks to score with a jab to the body but Muslim is just out of range. Muslim scores with a body shot.
Muslim definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Muslim lands a glancing blow to the side of Smathers's head. Smathers on the wrong end of a nice hook. Smathers tries for a takedown but Muslim circles away easily and Muslim counters with a stiff right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muslim wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Smathers walks straight into a right hand from Muslim - that's dropped him! Muslim jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Smathers from any more punishment! Smathers complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mongolian Muslim! Mongolian Muslim managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, Urban Fighter, into his post fight interview.

Kan is trying to defend but Smathers finishes it well and ends up in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smathers manages to land in guard. #SU2# Smathers is working an open guard so Kalasznikov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Smathers blocks a low kick nicely.#CL2# Kalasznikov clinches. Smathers has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kalasznikov avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.#BC2# Kalasznikov breaks from the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smathers is not content to let Kalasznikov control the position. He'll look to pass Kan's guard now, I'm sure.#SUB# Smathers is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kan has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB# Smathers controlling the position. Smathers working a defensive guard but Kan manages to pass into side control anyway.
