#R1# Blood walks into a stiff left hand from Askren. Askren looks to score with a jab to the body but Blood is just out of range. A big left from Askren misses. Blood thinks about the counter body kick.#TD2# Blood fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Askren sprawls well initially but Blood persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Askren keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2# Blood seems to be looking for submissions.
Blood is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Askren moves into full guard.
Askren bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blood's guard. #REVR##SU# Askren gets to his feet - Blood follows without any prompting. Blood shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Askren counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. #T1# Askren scores with a nice strike. Askren throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Blood stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Askren with a nice cross.#ROC# Blood is rocked!#KD# Askren lands a big uppercut and Blood crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Blood looks OK. Askren waves Blood back to his feet! Blood is still on wobbly legs! Can Askren finish him? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blood shoots in for a double leg but Askren sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Askren lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Blood head around and knocks him out cold! Askren hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yen Askren! Yen Askren very nearly forgot to thank Freebok (85% Laundry) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. #R1# Beast lands the left hand. Blood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beast paws at him with a jab and circles away. No luck for Blood with that takedown attempt. Blood fails with a takedown attempt. Beast defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Blood. Beast is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Young Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD2# Beast fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beast is thwarting Blood's attempts to control the position. Blood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beast works his way back into a safe position though. Oh Blood is still in real trouble! Blood seems to have got his legs back now. Beast connects with a couple of short punches. Beast works over Blood with some ground and pound from guard. Beast slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Beast with a nice head shot there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beast stands up over Blood, holding on to his feet. Beast throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Blood is out cold! Beast lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

#R1# Blood tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fry swivels and escapes. Fry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fry wants it to stay on the feet. Fry went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Blood misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. We've been told by Fry's head coaches at The Zoo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Tony Fry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Young Blood. Blood misses with a jab to the body
and Fry counters with a left to the body. A combination from Fry does no damage. Blood shoots in looking for a takedown. Fry tries to sprawl out of it but Blood keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Young Blood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blood thows a leg kick but Fry checks it #TD# and Fry counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fry postures up and lands a big shot to Blood's brow. Blood shoots for a double leg takedown but Reynolds sprawls well. He's pushed Blood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
