#R1##TD2# Sanders tries to sprawl but Kaplog drives through with a takedown into half guard. Kaplog controlling the action here. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kaplog lands a nice short elbow. Kaplog lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kaplog sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sanders defending well though. Kaplog throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kaplog not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sanders has hold of Kaplog's hands but Kaplog slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Sanders trying to control from the bottom.
Sanders regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kaplog. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaplog trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanders is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kaplog trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sanders looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kaplog is one step ahead there. Sanders pulls Kaplog in close to prevent any damage. #T1# Sanders working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kaplog. Kaplog is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kaplog's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Sanders really is a fat lump. Kaplog trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanders is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kaplog not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kaplog loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanders keeping moving, preventing Kaplog from controlling successfully. Kaplog trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kaplog must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kaplog slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#TD2# Kaplog closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanders quickly recovers to half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kaplog connects with a nice short shot to Sanders's temple. Kaplog looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sanders with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. #ROC2# Sanders is rocked! Kaplog is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Sanders is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kaplog fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Sanders from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kaplog! Great finish!
