There's a bit of a scramble here and now Viper is on top in guard.
#REVB# Viper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Viper looking to pass the guard. Carey pulls Viper in close to his closed guard and prevents Viper from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Viper throws a strike but Carey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVR##T1##SUB# Carey is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Viper is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Viper has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB# Carey keeping moving, preventing Viper from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Viper looking to sit in guard and control but Carey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Viper wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Carey manages to pass to side control. #T2# Carey is thwarting Viper's attempts to control the position. Viper wants to improve his position but Carey is controlling well.
Viper connecting with a few gentle strikes. Viper is trying to get back to full guard. Viper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carey is working away from the top position though.#T3# Viper tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Carey has advanced to mount. Uh oh. #SUB# Carey moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Viper has worked his arm free - good work by Viper!
Viper is trying to control Carey's posture but Carey avoids it. Carey has control of an arm but Viper manages to advance to Carey's back!#T4# Carey looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Viper trying to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Viper controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Viper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Van Carey's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. #R2##CL2# Viper clinches up against the cage.#TD2# Viper lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Carey is positioning himself well to prevent Viper advancing to mount. Viper is looking to stall here but Carey recovers full guard. Viper looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carey pulls Viper in close to prevent any damage. #T1# Viper trying to control but Carey is working from the bottom. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Carey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Viper swats him away and circles back towards the center. #T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Viper wants to clinch.#TD2# Viper scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Viper with the ground and pound but Carey regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Viper is thwarting Carey's attempts to control the position. Viper trying to control from half guard but Carey is working away. #T3# Viper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carey's head. #SUB# Carey actively working from the bottom here. Joe Viper has got the better of the ground game so far. Viper is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carey is holding on to half guard well.#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.#TD2# Viper shoots in and bounces Carey off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.#T4# Viper wants to control from the top but Carey keeps moving. #SUB# Carey looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Viper passes into half guard.
Viper working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Carey's thigh. Carey counters though and makes it back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#SUB# Carey looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Joe Viper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Van Carey's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! #R3# Viper leaves Carey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Viper throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Carey is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

#R1# Viper tries to clinch but fails miserably and Copeland counters with a three punch combo that has Viper backing up. Viper nods at Copeland to acknowledge the strikes. Copeland could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Copeland tries to clinch but Viper is having none of it. Viper avoids the head kick by Copeland.
#CL2# Viper moves into the clinch.#TD2# Viper pulls guard. Viper pulls Copeland in close to his closed guard and prevents Copeland from doing any damage or advancing position.#ES2# Viper is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Copeland presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Viper leaning his opponent against the cage. Viper lands a nice elbow. #CUT2# Damon Copeland's cut is getting worse.#T1# Copeland blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Copeland wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Viper tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Viper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Copeland looking for a takedown. Viper fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Viper blocking some punches.
#BC2# Viper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#T2##CL2# Viper moves into range and clinches up with Copeland. Viper is looking to take this one to the mat. Damon Copeland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Viper.#TD2# Viper has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Copeland clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Viper throwing damaging strikes from the back! Copeland could be in trouble here!
#CUT2# Damon Copeland's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Copeland prevents Viper from getting a body triangle.#SUB2# Viper has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Copeland has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T3# Viper is riding his opponent, not letting Copeland buck him off. Viper tries to keep control of the position but Copeland is staying busy. Copeland might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Copeland wants to get back to his feet. Viper scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
#CUT2# Jeez, Damon Copeland's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Damon Copeland's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
