#R1# Salladi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Reynolds half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Reynolds circles away from the clinch attempt#TD# and Reynolds counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Salladi working a defensive guard here.
Reynolds with a nice head shot there.#CUT# It looks like Merhdad Salladi has been cut. Reynolds distracts Salladi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Reynolds makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.#CUT# The cut above Merhdad Salladi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Merhdad Salladi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Spurt Reynolds! An intense looking Spurt Reynolds took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Ah, it's good to be back in the octagon after so long. This was only my second fight in 2017 but now I'm looking to compete as much as possible. I'm not getting any younger, you know. My days as a fighter are numbered and I want to finish this journey on a high note. Thank you. '.

#R1# Salladi fails to land with a series of punches.
Shaw is looking for a counter combo. Salladi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shaw doesn't seem bothered though. Salladi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Salladi throws a head kick that misses. As Salladi tries to get set, Shaw tries to push him back and clinch up but Salladi manages to avoid the attempt. Salladi lands with a hook. Shaw tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Salladi throws a head kick but Shaw moves out of range.
Shaw checks the leg kick nicely there.
#TD# Shaw shoots in and bounces Salladi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Salladi pulls Shaw in close to prevent any damage. Salladi wants to sweep but no luck. Salladi is adopting a defensive guard.#T1# The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaw with a flurry of punches that miss. Salladi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Salladi on the ground. Shaw not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Salladi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shaw's guard. #REVB# Salladi controls from within his opponent's guard. Salladi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Salladi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Shaw is trying to keep Salladi in close.
Salladi pushing down on Shaw's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Shaw is breathing heavily. Salladi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Salladi lands a big shot there that rocks Shaw but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Shaw taking shots to the head. Salladi throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.#T3##SUB2# Salladi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shaw can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Salladi controlling the pace for now. Salladi is continuing to stall.#SUB2# Salladi throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Shaw has his hands clasped together but Salladi breaks the hold and Shaw is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Salladi!
