A quick step to the side and Mays tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Slugger has a takedown stuffed. Lamont Mays has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spencer Slugger. Slugger lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.#CL2# Slugger gets a clinch. Slugger has Mays pressed against the cage, preventing Mays from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Slugger drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mays pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Mays counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Maki moves out of range of the body kick from Mays.

Mays tries to close the distance and clinch but Unger swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Unger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Unger connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mays fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Unger is looking to land body kicks. Unger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
