Idea closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Patton avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Idea working the ground and pound but Patton is defending the strikes.
Idea is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Patton will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Idea fails to land a wild elbow strike. #SUB2#
Idea looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Patton takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Idea remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Idea has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Patton!
Idea tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Idea unloads with some shots from mount but Patton bucks and avoids them well.
Idea punching from mount but Patton doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Idea with shots to the head and body - Patton looks very uncomfortable down there.
Idea takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Idea is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Patton is in real trouble. #SUB2#
Idea working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Patton is doing well to defend. Idea seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Patton is forced to tap and this one is over!

Patton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tarverdyan tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Tarverdyan tries to get to his feet, scrambling wildly. Patton sees the opportunity and transitions to an armbar that forces Tarverdyan to tap. Impressive finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chad Patton!
In defeat, Edmond Tarverdyan stepped up to the mic, saying 'fuck off!!!'.

Drogo connects with a nice looking jab.
Patton throws a half hearted mid kick.
Despite the aggression on Drogo's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Drogo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drogo wants it to stay on the feet.
Drogo is looking for the big counter here.#KD2#
Drogo cracks Patton with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Patton looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Drogo finish him? #ROC2#
Patton is rocked!
Patton misses the jab.
Oh Patton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Drogo connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Patton to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Drogo!
