Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Peter Everett (ranked 9206 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulski McBeth (ranked 3228 p4p, 322 weight class). Paulski McBeth told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Peter Everett! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Paulski McBeth! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. McBeth gets a clinch. Everett stops a takedown attempt from McBeth.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. McBeth has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Everett has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Everett tries to break the clinch but Williams is controlling the position. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Williams. Everett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Williams is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Everett wants to break free but Williams has control.
#TD2# Williams has hold of one of Everett's legs. Everett is fighting the takedown attempt but Williams gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Williams wants to control from the top but Everett keeps moving. #SUB2# Williams drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Williams seems to have locked his on tight now - Everett screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Williams, as he picks up the win!

#R1# Everett shoots in looking for a takedown. Mathews tries to sprawl out of it but Everett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mathews manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Everett tries to bum rush Mathews with a series of wild strikes but Mathews uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mathews went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Everett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mathews tries to avoid it but Everett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mathews to the ground. Mathews escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #CL# Mathews drives through and clinches with Everett against the cage.
Everett is trying to pull guard but Mathews turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ferdinand Mathews has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Everett. Everett tries to pull guard but Mathews holds him up against the cage and eventually Everett drops back down to his feet.
