#SUB2# Barrera is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Barrera pulls Vargas in close to prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vargas distracts Barrera with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.#T1# Barrera looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vargas is one step ahead there. Barrera is looking to sweep but instead, Vargas has passed into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Rigoberto Vargas will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! #R2##TD# Vargas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rigoberto Vargas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Barrera is concentrating on defense, preventing Vargas from advancing position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vargas connects with a nice short shot to Barrera's temple. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Vargas for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vargas misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Barrera.
#TD2# Barrera has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vargas clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Vargas prevents Barrera from getting a body triangle.#SUB2# Barrera working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Vargas is doing well to defend. Barrera seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Vargas is forced to tap and this one is over!

#R1##TD2# Barrera scores with a takedown into Sears's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Barrera stopping the sweep attempt from Sears. Barrera with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Barrera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrera slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.#SUB2# Barrera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sears really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Barrera controls the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sears struggling a bit here.#SUB2# Barrera has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sears is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Barrera yanks on the arm and Sears is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission!
