RISE 29 - Ray vs Slaughter 2

#R1# Kenway steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Slater. Kenway on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.#TD2# Kenway fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Slater to the ground. Kenway is now in Slater's guard. Kenway pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Slater is keeping the position for now. Kenway trying to control the position from guard on top but Slater is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kenway is looking to advance position but Slater has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kenway can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slater throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Slater controlling the position easily from mount. #T1# Slater avoids the attempt from Kenway to control. Kenway is desperately trying to improve his position but Slater has a good base and remains in mount. Slater is trying to take his opponent's back.
Kenway felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Slater trying to control but Kenway is having none of it. Slater pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
#SUB# Slater is working for a guillotine from mount but Kenway frees his head quite easily.
Kenway is working to get back to half guard.
#T2# Slater sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Slater has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kenway is looking to get to half guard. Kenway tries to hold on but Slater postures up. Slater takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kenway is wriggling around trying to escape.
#T3# Slater definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Poor strikes thrown by Slater there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Kenway wants to hold on but Slater pushes him away. Slater tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slater trying to control but Kenway is having none of it. #SUB# Slater swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kenway is now in Slater's guard. A big mistake from Slater there, giving up the dominant position! #T4# Slater is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kenway wants to control from the top but Slater keeps moving. Slater looking for a sweep. Not yet Slater, not yet. Kenway is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#SUB2# Kenway is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Slater is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Slater has escaped and now he's on top! #REVR# The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kenway working a defensive guard but Slater passes into half guard.

Tim Slater dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Slater darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kenway looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Slater connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kenway. Kenway circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kenway avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Slater looks to score with a jab to the body but Kenway is just out of range. Kenway goes for a double leg but Slater avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Slater continues to drive forward. Kenway fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tim Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Kenway. Kenway drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Slater lands a body shot.

Kenway looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Slater attempts a counter takedown but Kenway avoids it well and moves away. Slater misses with a straight right. Kenway fails to land the takedown.#T1# Kenway throws a combination that misses #TD# and Slater counters with a single leg into guard. Kenway didn't expect that. Tim Slater overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kenway wants to control but Slater passes easily into half guard.

Kenway wants to improve his position but Slater is controlling well.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slater manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kenway looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tim Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Kenway. Kenway fails with the takedown. Tim Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slater keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Kenway is still on wobbly legs! Can Slater finish him? Slater uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Charles Kenway is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Slater drops Kenway with a big left hand! Kenway is injured, injured bad! Slater jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

#R1# Kenway blocks a jab. Bianchi stuffs the takedown. A little feinted left hand from Bianchi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kenway shoots in for a takedown but Bianchi shows good takedown defense. Kenway doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bianchi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Alessio Bianchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Kenway. Kenway tries for a takedown but Bianchi circles away easily and Bianchi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A jab lands there for Bianchi.#ROC# Kenway is rocked! Kenway doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bianchi counters with a right hand from hell and Kenway is out cold! A vicious knockout!

#R1# Marius throws a hook but Kenway blocks it. It looked like Kenway was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Kenway moves out of range of the strikes. Marius throws a poor cross that misses
#TD# and Kenway counters with a takedown into side control. Kenway trying to control the action but Marius is working from the bottom. Kenway prevents Marius from escaping the position. Kenway controls the position. Kenway working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Kenway is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Marius knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kenway has knee on belly and moves into mount. #T1##SUB# Kenway is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Marius to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Marius shrugs it off. Marius is controlling an arm, preventing Kenway from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Marius stops Kenway from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Marius is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Marius has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.#SUB# Kenway is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Marius can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
#SUB# Kenway is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Kenway!

#R1##TD# Kenway shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Knox manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.#SUB# Kenway drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Kenway seems to have locked his on tight now - Knox screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Kenway, as he picks up the win!

#TD# and Kenway counters with a takedown into side control. #SUB# Kenway thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pessoa is trying to escape the position but Kenway is controlling the position. #SUB# Kenway has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pessoa is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kenway yanks on the arm and Pessoa is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kenway.

Jennings is trying to control the position but Kenway postures up. Kenway controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kenway pushing down on Jennings's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jennings is looking to control Kenway's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jennings avoid being mounted? Kenway content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Kenway seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jennings is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
