Puhkuri shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Baroni sprawls well. Baroni wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Puhkuri gets slowly back to his feet. Puhkuri is looking to land body kicks. Puhkuri shoots in looking for a takedown but Baroni manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Puhkuri's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Baroni loads up on a big right hand but Puhkuri slips the punch. Baroni throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've been told by Puhkuri's head coaches at Hardpunch (13 Elite / 1000$ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Puhkuri fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Niko Puhkuri. That's going to take a lot out of him.#CL# Puhkuri pushes Baroni up against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baroni lands a nice uppercut.#BC2# Baroni pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Baroni throws an overhand right that lands on Puhkuri's shoulder, as Puhkuri tries to avoid the shot. Baroni lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.#T1# Baroni throws a hook but Puhkuri avoids it easily. Puhkuri fails to land the takedown. Nice shot by Baroni. Puhkuri changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Baroni ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Puhkuri moves away. Puhkuri moves out of range as Baroni strikes. Baroni throws a lazy right hand but Puhkuri sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Puhkuri is looking to counter with a body kick. Puhkuri keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Baroni. Puhkuri fails to land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed right hand from Baroni misses the target. Puhkuri uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baroni.
Baroni's corner calls for a 1-2. Baroni obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. #T2# Baroni fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Puhkuri manages to avoid it. Puhkuri shoots in for a takedown but Baroni shows good takedown defense. Baroni lunges at Puhkuri with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Puhkuri's hand. Baroni keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
#ROC2# Puhkuri is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Baroni connects with a stiff jab that staggers Puhkuri - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

#R1# Jab from Puhkuri. Puhkuri cracks the inside of DeRozan's front leg. DeRozan lands the left hand. Puhkuri tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. DeRozan tests Puhkuri's chin there with a solid looking shot.#CUT# It looks like Niko Puhkuri has been cut. DeRozan listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. DeRozan throws the left hand but Puhkuri avoids the punch easily. Puhkuri defending well as DeRozan loads up on a big left hand. DeRozan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. We've been told by DeRozan's head coaches at Crassus that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Puhkuri steps to the side to avoid the strikes from DeRozan. DeRozan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Puhkuri. DeRozan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! DeRozan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Puhkuri tries to bum rush DeRozan with a series of wild strikes but DeRozan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.#T1# DeRozan scores with a hook to the body. Puhkuri takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. DeRozan lands with a nice body kick. Puhkuri needs to keep his hands up - DeRozan had a free shot at his head there.#ROC# Puhkuri is rocked! DeRozan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. DeRozan connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Puhkuri out cold! This one is over in a flash!

#R1# Puhkuri blocks a head kick by Resende.
Puhkuri uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Resende.
#TD2# Resende shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Puhkuri's guard.#ES# Puhkuri is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Resende presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. #TD# Puhkuri has picked Resende up - he's going for a ride! Puhkuri dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Resende told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Puhkuri throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Puhkuri working over Resende with some ground and pound. Resende looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Resende is pressing down on Puhkuri's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Puhkuri knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Resende on the ground. Resende is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Walker misses with a jab, cross combination.

#CL# Puhkuri takes the fight into the clinch. Puhkuri is pressed up against the cage. Walker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Puhkuri down to the mat. Puhkuri avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Puhkuri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And Walker tries to counter it with a takedown but Puhkuri pushes his down on his head and steps out. Puhkuri displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Walker throws out the jab. #KD# Puhkuri lands a big head kick that sends Walker tumbling to the mat! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Puhkuri throws a sloppy head kick and Walker moves out of range easily. Walker is still on wobbly legs! Walker wants to hold on but Puhkuri pushes him away.#SUB# Puhkuri is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Walker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Walker shrugs it off. Puhkuri is landing with some decent strikes but Walker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Walker is in all sorts of trouble here.
Puhkuri loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Walker scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Puhkuri land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Puhkuri stands and salutes the crowd.

#R1# Puhkuri slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Marzio keeps the fight on the outside. Puhkuri fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Marzio avoids it really well and circles away. Marzio getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Puhkuri throws a front kick that sends Marzio stumbling back into the cage. Puhkuri doesn't manage to clinch there - Marzio circles away.
Puhkuri scores with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marzio dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Marzio throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Puhkuri on the side of the head. Marzio has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A punch lands to the side of Puhkuri 's head but he takes it in his stride. Puhkuri fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Marzio wants to counter with a clinch but Puhkuri pushes him away.#T1# Puhkuri is looking to clinch but Marzio is avoiding it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puhkuri looking to sit in guard and control but Diaz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. Mikson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A good leg kick by Puhkuri. Puhkuri thumps Mikson with a low kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mikson. Puhkuri steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mikson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Mikson. Fontana doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Niko Puhkuri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fontana takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Puhkuri shoots in but no luck this time. #CL2# Fontana moves into range and clinches up with Puhkuri. Fontana tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Puhkuri just stands there and leans against the ropes. Fontana fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Fontana smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Puhkuri to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Fontana jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
