#R1# Van Anderson cracks Hinton with a right hand to the side of the head.#CUT2# It looks like Dean Hinton has been cut.#CL2# Van Anderson moves into range and clinches up with Hinton.#TD# Hinton pulls guard successfully.
Van Anderson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hinton's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Anderson wants to stand and escape but instead Hinton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVR# Hinton controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Van Anderson has his foot on Hinton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hinton works his way back into a safe position though. Van Anderson wants to stand but Hinton is controlling the position. #T1# Van Anderson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hinton sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hinton really is a fat lump. Hinton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Van Anderson is wriggling around but Hinton manages to pass to half guard.
Hinton controlling the action here. #T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Van Anderson wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.#TD2# Van Anderson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hinton was covering up waiting for the punch and Van Anderson finishes the takedown easily into guard. #ES# Hinton kicks Van Anderson off and gets to his feet. #CL2# Van Anderson moves into range and clinches up with Hinton.#T3# Van Anderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hinton has him pressed against the cage.#BC2# Van Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

#TD2# Van Anderson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hinton can't fight it off and eventually Van Anderson manages to take the fight to the floor. Hinton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hinton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. #ES# Hinton has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Van Anderson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Van Anderson throws a head kick that misses. Van Anderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Van Anderson tries a head kick but it misses.

#T4# We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Van Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. #TD2# Van Anderson dives in and scores a takedown into Hinton's guard.#ES# Hinton has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Van Anderson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Van Anderson throws a head kick but Hinton moves out of range.
Hinton attempts a counter takedown but Van Anderson avoids it well and moves away. Van Anderson misses with a head kick.
A low kick from Hinton is predictable there enabling Van Anderson to counter with a crisp jab. #ROC2# Hinton is rocked!#TD2# Van Anderson closes the distance looking for a takedown. Van Anderson picks Hinton up and slams him brutally to the floor. Hinton is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Theodore Van Anderson! Theodore Van Anderson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
