Stokes dives into mount looking to finish!#CUT2# It looks like Rocco Rivers has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rivers wants to control but Stokes is having none of it. Stokes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

#SUB2# Stokes has control of Rivers's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rivers regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rivers is squirming around, avoiding Stokes's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stokes content just to control the position here. #T1# Rivers looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Stokes tries to control but Rivers wriggling away. Stokes throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Stokes throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Rivers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rivers blocking the ground and pound. Stokes throwing strikes here but Rivers is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Stokes loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rivers scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Stokes land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Stokes stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shawnee Stokes! After the fight, Shawnee Stokes was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
