Jam has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Jim Jam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jam looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sawyer misses with a low kick.
Sawyer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sloppy strikes from Jam. Those never looked like landing. Jam shoots in for a double leg but Sawyer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sawyer swinging wildly here.

Earle Sawyer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sawyer has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Earle Sawyer. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sawyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Jam has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas in the buildup to the fight. Jam tries to clinch but Dillon is having none of it. Jam avoids the body shot from Dillon.
Dillon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Dillon jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jam ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dillon misses with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jam looks to land a combination but Blankenship avoids it well. Jam throws a series of punches but Blankenship avoids them all with ease. Blankenship pushes Jam against the cage but Jam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jim Jam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jam fails in his attempt to clinch. Blankenship is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jam. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blankenship gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Blankenship tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Jam is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Blankenship buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Blankenship!! Blankenship is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Jam throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
