#R1# Jab, jab by Thomas - just one landing. #CUT2# It looks like Fabian Cortez has been cut. Thomas has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cortez is landing a low percentage of strikes. Cortez misses with a takedown attempt - Thomas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cortez looks to throw the jab but Thomas is out of range. Thomas lands a jab to the head.
Thomas throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Cortez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Thomas looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Cortez misses with a shot to the body and Thomas counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cortez misses the body punch and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Fabian Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas slips a straight right by Cortez. Cortez doesn't succeed with the takedown#KD2# and Thomas counters with a crisp one two that drops Cortez! Thomas thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Cortez to his feet! Cortez is in big trouble!#ROC2# Cortez is rocked! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabian Cortez. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# Cortez misses with a takedown attempt and Thomas counters with a stiff right hand. Oh Cortez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Thomas cracks Cortez on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Cortez falls backwards against the ropes. Thomas follows up with more strikes that drop Cortez to his knees. Thomas keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Cortez! This one is all over!

#R1# Cortez misses with an uppercut. Cruciani saw that one coming. Cruciani lands a nice hook to Cortez's body. Cortez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Cruciani lands the left hand. The fighters circle momentarily. Cruciani darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Cortez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. #CUT2# It looks like Fabian Cortez has been cut. Cortez misses with a straight left. Cruciani displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cortez throws out the jab. Cruciani bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cortez's head. Cortez just misses with a punch to the body.
A little jabbing left from Cruciani on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Cruciani lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
#TD# Cortez scores with a takedown into Cruciani's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cortez trying to control the position from guard on top but Cruciani is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cortez preventing the sweep. Cortez controls from within his opponent's guard. Cortez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Willink is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Willink gets underhooks to prevent Cortez's takedown attempt.
Jocko Willink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabian Cortez. Willink prevents a takedown attempt there.

Gracie looks to land a combination but Cortez avoids it well. Gracie lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cortez at a distance.
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Cortez uses good head movement to avoid it. Cortez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A telegraphed right hand from Cortez misses the target. Gracie fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cortez on the side of the head. Cortez misses with a lunging right hand
and Gracie counters with a lovely shot to the body. Cortez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gracie finds it's way round the side to connect with Cortez's head. Cortez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cortez looks to throw the jab but Gracie is out of range. Jab, jab by Gracie - just one landing.
