Johnson tries to clinch but Makela is having none of it.

and Makela counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Johnson!
Johnson is not content to let Makela control the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Johnson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Makela is really squeezing tight and eventually Johnson passes out! Makela breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Makela slips nicely into half guard.
Sykes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Makela on the ground.
Sykes is trying to control but Makela passes into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sykes tries to escape but Makela is in control.

Makela is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sykes's shoulder. That is not cool.

They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Makela hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Makela sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hull's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Makela connects with a nice short shot to Hull's temple.
Hull is controlling Makela's position as best he can from this difficult position.
