#R1##TD2# Whitaker gets caught napping as John dives in and scores a takedown. Whitaker manages to retain guard. John throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Whitaker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. John seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Whitaker really is a fat lump. Whitaker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# John blocking the ground and pound attempt from Whitaker. John moves into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John controlling the position. Whitaker throwing strikes from guard but John blocks nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if John can do anything to dispel that myth. Whitaker is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - John pulls down on the head and he's put Whitaker to sleep! This one is all over!
