Dante is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sousa is controlling him. Sousa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dante wants to stand and escape but Sousa is having none of it. #ES2# Dante pushes Sousa off and gets back to his feet.
Dante misses with a looping left. Sousa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dante changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Sousa is fighting to break Life's control of his arms but Life is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Sousa looking to pass the guard. #SUB2# Sousa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Life manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sousa has Life in his guard.#REVR# Life sitting in guard here, content to control. Life trying to control but Sousa is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sousa seems keen to control Life's posture. Sousa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB##T1# Life is looking for a sweep. #R1##TD# Burgess gets the takedown into side control. Sousa manages to work his way to half guard, despite Burgess's best efforts. Sousa manages to get to full guard.
#SUB# Burgess has gone for a leg lock! Sousa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Burgess's guard.#REVB# Sousa landing with the ground and pound. Burgess is looking to stand back up but Sousa counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Burgess. Sousa slips a nice elbow through Burgess's hands, connecting with Burgess's forehead.#ROC2# Burgess is rocked! Sousa is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Burgess is hurt! He's hurt bad - Sousa fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Burgess from any more punishment! Congratulations to Sousa! Great finish!
