Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Victor Szczęsny (ranked 1604 p4p, 82 weight class) and Mike One (ranked 6929 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Victor Szczęsny! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Mike One! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. One instigates a clinch. Szczęsny gets underhooks to prevent One's takedown attempt.
Szczęsny really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. One pulls Szczęsny into guard.
Szczęsny is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. One looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Szczęsny passes into side control.
Score +3 for passing guard: Szczęsny (3) vs (0) One One is looking to regain half guard here but Szczęsny keeps moving and retains side control. Szczęsny will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Szczęsny wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by One, who protects the arm well. Szczęsny tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Szczęsny has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's one minute gone in the round. One seems a little lost for a moment, as Szczęsny dominates the positioning. Szczęsny moves into full mount! Score +2 for reaching mount: Szczęsny (5) vs (0) One Szczęsny sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Szczęsny is going oldschool here, as he tries to force One to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so One shrugs it off. Szczęsny throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! One has his hands clasped together but Szczęsny breaks the hold and One is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Szczęsny!
