#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Melton shoots and misses and Blurry counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Melton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blurry swivels and escapes. Nice body punch from Blurry. Blurry moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Melton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Blurry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Blurry throws out a counter right but Melton avoids it with no problem. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Melton. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Melton decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.#T1# Melton missing with the ground and pound from half guard. #SUB# Melton is working for a kimura but Blurry is defending it quite comfortably.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Melton will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Blurry letting Melton take a breather here. Melton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Blurry's elbow. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Joe Melton. Blurry sizes up Melton with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Nice jab there from Blurry. Melton shoots in looking for a takedown but Blurry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Melton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Melton. That's going to take a lot out of him.#CL# Melton clinches up with Blurry and pushes him back against the cage. #TD2# Dummy has clasped his hands together around Melton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Dummy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Melton stops Dummy from passing to mount. Melton is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dummy asserts his dominance and retains side control. The ground and pound from Dummy seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Melton is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dummy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Melton trying to hold on to Dummy's head to control him but Dummy postures up.

Dummy tries to stand and escape but Melton is controlling the position. Dummy is looking to take a break and control but Melton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dummy wants to advance to full mount but Melton doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Dummy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# Melton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dummy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. #R1# Bandridge throws a good cross that connects.
#CUT2# It looks like Joe Melton has been cut. A looping hook to the body misses from Bandridge. Melton does a little dance to reset his feet. Bandridge throws a hook to the side of Melton's head but Melton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bandridge scores with a nice head shot.#ROC2# Melton is rocked! Melton bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Bandridge comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Melton falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Melton was out before he hit the floor!

Baker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Baker distracts Melton with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Baker stopping the sweep attempt from Melton. Baker loads up on a big left hand. Melton felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Baker looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Melton can't hide his disappointment, as Baker celebrates the victory.

It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Pires, as he picks up the win!
