Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Anthony lands a really nice looking cross but Jones seems unphased.
Anthony attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Anthony scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Anthony connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jones takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones moves to clinch but Anthony breaks away and Anthony counters with a leg kick. Carmelo Anthony seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anthony clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Valentine looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well. No joy there for Valentine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've been hearing good reports from Onera's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Jones wants to get back to full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth. Onera trying to control from half guard but Jones is working away. Onera content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jones wants to improve his position but Onera is controlling well.

Ray stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Ray is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Adams is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Adams is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Adams uses good head movement to avoid it. Adams jumps guard but Jones stands there with Adams around his waist. Adams gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones slowing the pace effectively. Jones throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Adams blocks it with crossed arms. Jones putting his Muay Thai to good use. Franks is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Franks takes a shot to the head. Jones lands a right hand. A short left from Jones. #CUT2# It looks like Austin Franks has been cut. Franks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Franks is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jones is keeping busy. Jones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Franks has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jackson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jones misses with a body punch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Jones. Jones lands a good knee to the midsection. Jackson won't want to take too many of those. Jackson is trying to break free. A shot in the inside from Jones. Jones's coach down at The Forge was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jones's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Jones misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jackson.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jones lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lambert has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lambert and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.#CL2# Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Jones - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Jones makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.#CUT2# It looks like Rolland Lambert has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones lands with a short head shot on the inside.
