Grizzly throws a nice inside leg kick. Grizzly has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Syracuse is landing a low percentage of strikes. A jab from Grizzly does it's job there. Syracuse misses with an uppercut
#KD2# and Syracuse is countered with a crisp right hand from Grizzly that sends him to the canvas! Grizzly follows him to the mat into side control. #ROC2# Syracuse is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Joshua Syracuse has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Grizzly cracks Syracuse with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Grizzly immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Syracuse is done! Ovchinnikov tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. I was talking to Ovchinnikov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Ovchinnikov leaning against his opponent.
Ovchinnikov tries to throw a body punch but Syracuse avoids it by throwing Ovchinnikov back against the cage. Ovchinnikov softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Syracuse dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Ovchinnikov blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Jones looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jones throws a hook but Syracuse blocks it. Syracuse lands with a hook. Jones tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Jones takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target. Jones misses with an uppercut. Syracuse slips under a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Syracuse. Syracuse throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it. Jones throws a looping overhand right but Syracuse ducks down to avoid it. Syracuse is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Jones with a body shot.#KD# Jones lands a big uppercut and Syracuse crumbles to the floor! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Syracuse smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. #R1# Dryll throws a big shot that misses. Evan Dryll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Syracuse throws a jab but it's blocked by Dryll. Syracuse jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dryll just misses with a punch to the body.
Syracuse takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Syracuse cracks Dryll with an open hand slap. Syracuse lands a jab. Syracuse throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dryll counters with a straight right hand. Syracuse avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A decent looking cross lands there for Syracuse. Dryll misses the jab. Dryll misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Syracuse lands with a cross. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Some wild striking there from Dryll.

Syracuse is fighting to break Rangel's control of his arms but Rangel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Syracuse looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A big left from Syracuse misses. Dryll appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Dryll misses with a looping right. A swing and a miss from Syracuse. Dryll misses with an uppercut. Syracuse saw that one coming. Syracuse seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Syracuse blocks a jab. Good work by Dryll as he checks the leg kick. Syracuse throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Dryll let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Dryll throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Syracuse throwing a counter right hand but Dryll manages to avoid it. Zexi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Syracuse scores with a three punch combo!

Syracuse's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Zexi checks a leg kick. Some wild striking there from Syracuse.

Zexi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Syracuse trying to control here.

It's a bit of a token attempt though and Syracuse regains control of the situation pretty easily.
