Samuel is looking for a sweep. li is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Samuel's coaches at Cozad MMA Rio have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# li wants to work for an arm triangle but Samuel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. #R3##CL# li tries to keep at a distance but Samuel has taken the fight into the clinch. li is pressed up against the cage. Samuel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag li down to the mat. li avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Samuel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. li is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Samuel connects with a body shot that sends li's belly button to the back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Samuel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. #TD# Samuel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. li tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Samuel is in li's guard. Samuel grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from li! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

#R1# Munoz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts li as he jumps to the side. li is looking for the big counter here. Munoz looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Munoz tries to bum rush li with a series of wild strikes but li uses good footwork to avoid the assault. And li tries to counter it with a takedown but Munoz pushes his down on his head and steps out. Munoz tries to clinch there but li circles away.
Munoz throws a sloppy head kick and li moves out of range easily. Munoz tries to clinch but li is having none of it. li unleashes a big counter combination but Munoz bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Horrible takedown attempt by Munoz or perhaps it was just good defense by li, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munoz tries to clinch #TD2# and li counters with a takedown into side control. li has knee on belly and moves into mount. li content just to control the position here. #T1# BOOM! li connects with a massive shot to the dome!

#R1# Steel misses with a wild body shot. #KD2# Steel steps into range and cracks li with a monster punch that buckles his knees! li flops backwards and Steel dives into his guard looking to finish!
#CUT2# It looks like Jet li has been cut.#SUB# li had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Steel defends it easily. li being controlled here, momentarily. Steel won't allow li to get back to his feet. Steel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. li swivels though and keeps the full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! li can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steel controls the pace. li keeping full guard, as Steel tries to pass. #SUB# li escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. #T1##SUB# li is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A head kick misses from li. Johnston is looking for a counter combo. li misses with a head kick.
