Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ajax's waist but Ajax gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side.

Ajax drops Cruz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Cruz looks back up at him and smiles so Ajax waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed. #CUT2#
It looks like Nilton Cruz has been cut.
Ajax just misses with a punch to the body.
As Ajax tries to get set, Cruz tries to push him back and clinch up but Ajax manages to avoid the attempt.

and Cruz counters with a shoot takedown. Ajax fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cruz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ajax swivels though and keeps the full guard.
