Eyes closes the distance looking to clinch and Johnson counters with a series of strikes. Eyes will be more careful next time no doubt. #R1# Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Wali off the cage and back into range.#TD# Wali changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Wali.#SUB# Wali looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. #SUB# Wali tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well. Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Wali keeps moving and retains side control. Wali is staying tight to Johnson's torso, preventing him from escaping. The strikes coming from Wali are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wali. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T1# Johnson struggling a bit here. Wali works to advance to full mount. Johnson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Johnson is trying to stand up. Wali sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! BOOM! Wali connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Winkle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Johnson lands with a right hand. Winkle needs to keep his hands up - Johnson had a free shot at his head there. Winkle tries to clinch but fails miserably and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Winkle should have avoided that one. #TD# Winkle drives through with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.#ES2# Johnson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Winkle presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Max looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.#CL2# Max moves into the clinch. Max stalling in the clinch but Johnson improves position. Johnson lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnson lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Max throws a lazy head kick and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Max lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Max looks winded! Johnson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Max's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Johnson dives in looking to finish as Max flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Johnson's strikes! Johnson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Max's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Max was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
