That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Power Max.

Stein looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Stein is pawing at Max, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Max's nose. Max is badly hurt! Max stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stein.

Stein is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Max is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Max stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dirrel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Max rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fernandez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Max fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fernandez manages to avoid it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Max looks winded!
Johnson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Max's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Johnson dives in looking to finish as Max flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Johnson's strikes! Johnson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Max's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Max was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
