We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shevchenko has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Shevchenko avoids a lazy jab quite easily.#CL# Dema fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shevchenko, pushing him back against the cage. Shevchenko is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Dema works on Shevchenko's body with a couple of short punches. Dema lands a knee to the head.

#R1# No luck with that takedown attempt from Shevchenko. #TD# Benson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shevchenko tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Benson is in Shevchenko's guard. Benson trying to control the position from guard on top but Shevchenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Benson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Benson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Shevchenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Benson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. #SUB2# Shevchenko looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Benson is defending well. Shevchenko quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Benson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! He's simply no match for Shevchenko on the ground. Shevchenko wants to control but Howell is keeping him busy. Howell is looking to regain full guard.
