#R1# Souza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gregory avoids it really well and circles away. Souza throws a left and a right that both miss
#CL# and Gregory counters into the clinch. Nicely done. #BC# Gregory escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick by Souza misses #TD# and Gregory counters with a single leg into guard. Souza didn't expect that. Souza is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Gregory postures up in Souza's guard and throws a big left but Souza blocks it. Gregory not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Souza trying to control the position.
Gregory working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Souza is trying to keep Gregory in close.
#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.#TD2# Souza shoots in for a takedown and gets it.#T2# Gregory is not content to let Souza control the position. Gregory might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Souza working the head and body with strikes. Souza is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gregory is positioning himself well to prevent Souza advancing to mount. Souza tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gregory knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Souza lands with a punch from half guard. Souza is trying to control the action in half guard but Gregory is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. #T3# Gregory has his hands clasped together around Souza's back. He's all about the action. Souza wants to take a breather but Gregory is having none of it. Gregory has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Souza is working away from the top position though. Souza prevents Gregory from improving his position.#SUB2# Souza seems to be working for a kimura but Gregory defends the submission attempt. Souza wants to pass the guard but Gregory is defending well. #T4# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Souza thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Souza stalling away here and it's allowed Gregory to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Souza's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gregory is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#CL2# Souza moves into the clinch successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gregory has Souza pressed against the cage, preventing Souza from circling away and getting back to striking at range.#TD2# Souza has hold of one of Gregory's legs. Gregory is fighting the takedown attempt but Souza gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Gregory pulls Souza in to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Timmy Gregory will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! #R2# Souza leaves Gregory with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Souza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gregory avoids it really well and circles away. It looked like Gregory wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Antonio Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Souza fails with the takedown#TD# and Gregory counters with a shoot takedown. Souza fights it but they end up in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gregory is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Gregory working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Souza's head. Souza is trying to control the position but Gregory postures up. #T1##SUB2# Souza is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gregory throws a big right hand that misses. Souza looking for a sweep. Not yet Souza, not yet. Gregory really is a fat lump. Souza has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gregory has passed into side control.
Timmy Gregory overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Souza tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Souza wants to control but Gregory is having none of it. Gregory landing strikes from the mount and Souza is in trouble! #T2# Gregory controlling from the full mount. Souza tries to get back to half guard but can't. Souza is breathing heavily. Gregory pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Souza tries to hold on but Gregory postures up. Souza keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gregory sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. #T3# Gregory is in the full mount, landing strikes. Souza is trying desperately to improve position. Gregory takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Souza tries to reverse the position but Gregory maintains control. Gregory lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Souza hang on? Gregory sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Souza really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
#T4# Gregory lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Souza is desperately trying to improve his position but Gregory has a good base and remains in mount. Gregory avoids the attempt from Souza to control. Gregory raining down hammerfists from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gregory blocks Souza's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gregory in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Timmy Gregory dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! #R3# Souza misses with a kick to the body #TD# and Gregory counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Souza! Souza bucks up and tries to throw Gregory off but instead Gregory has got his back! The referee is taking a good look at Souza as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Gregory!
Souza is taking damage to the body and head. Souza is in bad spot here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Gregory has the hooks in. Souza is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. #T1# Gregory slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
I really don't envy Souza right now.
Souza takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gregory lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gregory is punishing Souza with strikes - can he finish him?!#ROC# Souza is rocked!#SUB# Gregory is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Souza won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Gregory off his unconscious opponent!
