#R1# Jimenez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Volkov moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Volkov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jimenez. Aleksandr Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2# Volkov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jimenez is trying to defend but Volkov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Volkov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jimenez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jimenez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.#SUB# Jimenez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Volkov doesn't defend quickly enough and Jimenez has managed to lock this one up! Can Volkov escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jimenez on a fantastic submission victory.

#R1# Volkov avoids the body shot from Jimenez.
Volkov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jimenez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Volkov throws a combination. Jimenez tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Jimenez throws a jab when Volkov was well out of range. Volkov darts in looking for a takedown but Jimenez gets double underhooks and turns Volkov into the cage. Volkov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jimenez pinned against the cage. Jimenez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nelson Jimenez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksandr Volkov. Volkov slips a jab from Jimenez. Jimenez throws out a loose jab but Volkov uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jimenez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Volkov is fending him off so far but Jimenez persists. Nope, Volkov circles away and we're back to standing. Jimenez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Volkov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jimenez missing with a left hand there. Volkov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Jimenez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Volkov was well out of range. Poor timing from Jimenez.#T1# Volkov dives in and grabs Jimenez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jimenez pushes down on Volkov's head and hops out. Volkov looks winded! Jimenez missing with a left hand there. Volkov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Volkov unleashes a big counter combination but Jimenez bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Volkov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Volkov throws a fast counter high kick but Jimenez manages to duck under it in time. Jimenez throws the left hand but Volkov avoids the punch easily. Jimenez goes for a double leg but Volkov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Volkov continues to drive forward. Volkov has a takedown stuffed. Jimenez misses the body punch and Volkov counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Volkov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jimenez throws a jab but it's blocked by Volkov. Aleksandr Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Volkov fails with a takedown attempt. Jimenez misses with a hook. Volkov ducked under it nicely. #T2# Jimenez throws a big shot that misses. Jimenez throws a poor cross that misses
and Volkov counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Jimenez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Volkov tries to avoid it but Jimenez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Volkov to the ground. Volkov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Volkov thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jimenez if he has to take too many more of those.
Jimenez misses with a straight right. #TD2# Volkov drives through with a takedown into Jimenez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#SUB# Volkov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jimenez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Volkov is looking to defend but Jimenez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Volkov! Jimenez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Volkov taps out and this one is all over!
