The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Valdez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dirrel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dirrel fails with the takedown. Dirrel stalks Valdez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Valdez's face. Valdez staggers backwards, shaken.#CUT# It looks like Oscar Valdez has been cut. Dirrel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Valdez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dirrel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Valdez defends well and Dirrel ends up having to push Valdez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
