As Klyushev tries to get set, Patterson tries to push him back and clinch up but Klyushev manages to avoid the attempt. Patterson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.#CL2# Klyushev forces Patterson back against the cage and clinches. Klyushev is trying to break the clinch but Patterson is controlling him. Patterson misses with a punch on the inside.

Patterson has Klyushev pressed against the cage, preventing Klyushev from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Patterson is trying to pull guard but Klyushev turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Klyushev as Patterson tries to tie him up. Klyushev is trying to push Patterson away but Patterson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Patterson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Patterson is trying to maintain a safe position but Klyushev gets an underhook and turns Patterson into the cage. Patterson can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. Klyushev wants to break free but Patterson has control.

Oh, that's hurt him - Patterson falls to the canvas and Egorovich follows him into side control. #ROC2# Patterson is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Damion Patterson has been cut. The referee asks Egorovich politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Egorovich prefers to stall for the moment though. Oh Patterson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Patterson tries to get back to half guard but can't. This has been an exciting period of action! Egorovich controlling the position from side mount. Patterson is trying to control Egorovich's posture but Egorovich avoids it. Patterson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Patterson is looking for a sweep. Egorovich lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Patterson! Egorovich senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Patterson out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!

Patterson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gruesome swats him away and circles back towards the center. Patterson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gruesome defends well and Patterson ends up having to push Gruesome into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gruesome tries to counter with a clinch but Patterson shakes him off and moves away.#CL2# Gruesome clinches up with Patterson and pushes him back against the cage. Patterson looking to stall.
Patterson stalls. A battle for position here, against the cage.#TD2# Gruesome has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Patterson uses from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shackleford showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Shackleford trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shackleford controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Shackleford wants to get up but he can't break Patterson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Patterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shackleford on the ground. Bono tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Patterson cracks Bono with an open hand slap. Patterson shoots in looking for a takedown. Bono tries to sprawl out of it but Patterson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bono manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Patterson really is a fat lump. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bono dodges the punch combination from Patterson.
