#R1##TD2# Renoir drives through with a takedown into Mir's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mir tries to strike from the bottom.
Renoir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mir trying to control the position.
Mir seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Renoir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mir works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mir is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# Mir trying to control from half guard but Renoir is working away. #SUB# Mir is looking for a kimura but Renoir is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mir to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Renoir is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Mir has latched onto it... Big trouble! Mir pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Renoir is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Mir!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Mir!
