Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Randy Kelly (ranked 965 p4p, 124 weight class) and Ty Nikulesci (ranked 4387 p4p, 448 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Randy Kelly! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ty Nikulesci! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Nikulesci shoots in and bounces Kelly off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kelly (0) vs (2) Nikulesci Nikulesci looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nikulesci is still trying to improve position. Nikulesci must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nikulesci is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nikulesci wants to control from the top but Kelly keeps moving. Kelly has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Kelly keeping moving, preventing Nikulesci from controlling successfully.

Nikulesci doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kelly is tightening it up a little... Nikulesci has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Nikulesci reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Nikulesci taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kelly!

Fernandes is looking to reverse the position.#SUB2# Nikulesci wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fernandes, who protects the arm well. Nikulesci has knee on belly and moves into mount. #SU2# Nikulesci stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. #TD2# Nikulesci feints and as Fernandes raises his hands in defense, Nikulesci changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.#T1# Fernandes trying to control the position.

It looks like Nikulesci might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.#SUB2# Fernandes is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Nikulesci has latched onto it... Big trouble! Nikulesci pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Fernandes is tapping in no time flat!
