Ponkan misses with a takedown attempt
and Munkhag counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ponkan fails with the takedown
and Munkhag counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Munkhag stalks Ponkan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ponkan's face. Ponkan staggers backwards, shaken.
Munkhag definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ponkan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Munkhag lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ponkan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Munkhag to the mat! Munkhag manages to get full guard.
Ponkan lands a couple of elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munkhag is controlling Ponkan's posture.

Ponkan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ponkan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ponkan has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Munkhag is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ponkan yanks on the arm and Munkhag is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ponkan.

The Platypus tries to clinch up
and Munkhag connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Munkhag lands an uppercut out of nowhere! The Platypus falls backwards - clearly groggy! Munkhag dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bodonchar Munkhag!
Bodonchar Munkhag seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.

The Platypus throws a head kick that misses
and Munkhag counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#CUT#
It looks like Perry The Platypus has been cut.
The Platypus glances at the clock... BAM! Munkhag nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends The Platypus crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, The Platypus is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bodonchar Munkhag!
A very excited looking Bodonchar Munkhag rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Munkhag wants to clinch.
Harmbee looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Munkhag shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Munkhag tries to clinch there but Harmbee circles away.
Harmbee's coach down at ELITE Island Gym - 19 Elite Coaches - $300/Week was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Harmbee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Harmbee throws an overhand right that lands on Munkhag's shoulder, as Munkhag tries to avoid the shot.
As Harmbee looks to move away, Munkhag throws a big counter combo but Harmbee just gets out of the way.
Harmbee looks to land a right hand but Munkhag moved out of range.
Harmbee waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Munkhag.
Munkhag moves out of range as Harmbee strikes.
Harmbee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Munkhag defending well as Harmbee loads up on a big left hand.
Munkhag closes the distance and clinches up with Harmbee, looking for a takedown. Munkhag pushes Harmbee against the cage but Harmbee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bodonchar Munkhag's cut is getting worse.
Munkhag walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Munkhag limp body while Harmbee jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
