Crane leaves Oliveira with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Oliveira defending well as Crane loads up on a big left hand. Oliveira looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crane is fending him off so far but Oliveira persists. Nope, Crane circles away and we're back to standing. A jab from Crane misses. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Crane lands on the inside with an uppercut. The referee calls for Crane to work.

David Crane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oliveira closes the distance and clinches up with Crane, looking for a takedown. Oliveira pushes Crane against the cage but Crane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Crane throws a monster overhand right that drops Oliveira! Crane follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

#R1# Oliveira fails with a takedown attempt. Shimizu throws a right hand that Oliveira ducks under and follows up with a left that Oliveira also avoids with ease.#CL2# Shimizu gets a clinch. Shimizu looking for a takedown. Oliveira is trying to push Shimizu away but Shimizu has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Oliveira is trying to pull guard but Shimizu turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Oliveira.
#TD# Shimizu is fighting off a takedown attempt but Oliveira is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shimizu to the mat. Shimizu regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Shimizu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oliveira is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #R1##TD# Dark feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Oliveira looking to control.
Oliveira looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dark is one step ahead there. Dark pushes down on Oliveira's leg and manages to get into half guard. Dark content to control rather than advance. Dark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oliveira on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oliveira regains full guard. Nicely done. Dark engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
