A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jonhson is defended easily by Van Der Hoorn.#TD2#
Jonhson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jonhson is taking a breather. Van Der Hoorn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jonhson wants to stand up but Van Der Hoorn is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jonhson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Van Der Hoorn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Well, if Jonhson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jonhson is looking to take a break and control but Van Der Hoorn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jonhson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jonhson wants to stand but Van Der Hoorn is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Jonhson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jonhson throws some wild stikes that Van Der Hoorn manages to avoid easily.

Poor strikes thrown by Jonhson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Van Der Hoorn is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Jonhson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Van Der Hoorn is forced to tap!

Graves pushes Van Der Hoorn up against the cage in a clinch.
Graves is still on wobbly legs! Can Van Der Hoorn finish him?
Van Der Hoorn tries for a takedown but Graves manages to get underhooks.
Graves throws a head punch that misses.
Van Der Hoorn misses with a body punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Van Der Hoorn tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Graves blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Graves manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Graves swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Van Der Hoorn breaks the clinch.
Van Der Hoorn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Graves paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Van Der Hoorn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Graves sprawls well. Graves wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Van Der Hoorn gets slowly back to his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Graves! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Van Der Hoorn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Van Der Hoorn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Graves throws a hook but Van Der Hoorn blocks it.
Van Der Hoorn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Graves circles away.
Graves seems to have recovered his senses.
Graves moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Graves stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Van Der Hoorn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Graves swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A jab from Graves does it's job there.
Van Der Hoorn takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Van Der Hoorn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Graves as he jumps to the side.
Van Der Hoorn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#T1#
Graves fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Graves lands the left hand.
Van Der Hoorn lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Graves connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Van Der Hoorn's hands.
Graves lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd cheers as Graves lands an impressive looking overhand right. Van Der Hoorn doesn't seem phased though.#ROC2#
Van Der Hoorn is rocked!
Graves lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Van Der Hoorn up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Graves from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Van Der Hoorn's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ernest Graves!
After winning the bout, Ernest Graves thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
