#R1##TD2# Goyo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gregory napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gregory parries the strikes from Goyo easily there. Goyo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gregory to escape.
Goyo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Goyo working the ground and pound. Gregory is trying to escape the position but Goyo is controlling the position. It looks like Goyo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Goyo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Gregory is trying to control Goyo's posture but Goyo avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gregory tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Goyo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Goyo working away. Gregory is trying to escape the position but Goyo is controlling the position. Goyo landing strikes. Gregory seems a little lost for a moment, as Goyo dominates the positioning. Gregory really is a fat lump. Gregory can't do much from the bottom here. Goyo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. #T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gregory is working to avoid the ground and pound but Goyo connects with a decent elbow. Gregory is pushing Goyo's head away, looking to escape. Goyo manages to hold on to the position though. Goyo is looking to take a break and control but Gregory is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gregory wants to control but Goyo postures up.#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gregory throws a sloppy head kick and Goyo moves out of range easily. Goyo feints the counter takedown.#TD# Gregory dives in and scores a takedown into Goyo's guard.#ES2# Goyo pushes Gregory off and gets back to his feet.

Oh, that's bad for Gregory! Gregory wants to control but Goyo postures up. Goyo content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gregory can't do much from the bottom here. The referee asks Goyo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Goyo prefers to stall for the moment though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Goyo wants to control but Gregory is keeping him busy. Gael Goyo has got the better of the ground game so far. Gregory tries to improve position but can't. Goyo in side control, just content to control the action for now. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Goyo misses with a takedown attempt - Gregory sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Goyo fails with a takedown attempt. Goyo dives in for a single leg takedown but Gregory sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Timmy Gregory has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gael Goyo. Gregory shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goyo but Goyo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Goyo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#T3##CL# Goyo gets tackled into the cage by Gregory. Gregory maintains the clinch. #TD2# Goyo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gregory is trying to keep an underhook but Goyo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Goyo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. #ES# Gregory makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!#TD# Gregory bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gregory is looking to take a break and control but Goyo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #T4# Goyo trying to control but Gregory flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB# Gregory tightening his grip on Goyo, looking for the choke. #SUB# Gregory is persistently looking for the submission but Goyo is defending it well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# Goyo is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Gregory might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gregory can't do much from the bottom here. #SUB2# Goyo is trying to get an arm triangle but Gregory is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goyo trying to control the action but Gregory is working from the bottom. #T1# Gregory struggling a bit here. Gregory manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Gregory is stalling here. Goyo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gregory seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Goyo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Goyo controlling the position from side mount. Goyo wants to control but Gregory is keeping him busy. #T2# Gregory takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Goyo working away. Gregory tries to escape but Goyo is in control. Gregory sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Goyo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. #T3# Goyo is trying to control the action in half guard but Gregory is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Goyo not doing much here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Gregory tries to roll over but Goyo keeps him under control.#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#CL# Gregory clinches up against the cage.#T4# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.#TD# Gregory successfully pulls guard.
Goyo wants to control from the top but Gregory keeps moving. Gregory bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Goyo's guard. #REVR# Gregory sitting in guard, not really doing much. Goyo working a defensive guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Timmy Gregory. I think Gregory has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
