Sims content to stall in guard here. Sims lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lathander working a defensive guard but Sims manages to pass into side control anyway.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Sims is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lathander knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lathander is trying to escape and get back to his feet.#T1# Sims working the ground and pound. #SUB# Sims goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lathander rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sims's guard! Nice work there by Lathander! Lathander wants to control from the top but Sims keeps moving. Lathander is looking to pass into half guard but Sims pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sims is in guard.#REVR# Sims with a flurry of punches that miss. #T2# Lathander not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sims throws a head kick but Lathander moves out of range.
#TD2# Lathander shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lathander was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sims is looking to regain half guard here but Lathander keeps moving and retains side control. Lathander tries to stand but Sims is controlling his head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sims sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've been informed that Lathander has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Lathander wants to stand but Sims has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. #SUB# Sims has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lathander is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sims. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Sims's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.#T1# Sims looking for a sweep but Lathander has passed into full mount! Oh no! Sims is trying to escape the mount.
You get the feeling that Sims really doesn't like being in this position too much.

#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sims wants to hold on but Lathander pushes him away. Sims tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lathander is in Sims's guard. Lathander is breathing heavily. Sims wants to get back to his feet but Lathander is in a dominant position and won't allow it. #T3# Sims trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. Sims keeping moving, preventing Lathander from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#SUB# Sims looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lathander is defending well. Sims quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lathander has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Sims celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

#R1##TD# Wood bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wood scoring with punches from side control. Wood moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Lathander struggling a bit here. Lathander manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. #SUB# Wood seems to be looking for submissions.
Wood will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wood not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Wood seems to be working for a kimura but Lathander defends the submission attempt. Lathander wants to control but Wood is keeping busy.

Lathander makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lathander.#SU# Wood gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Lathander goes for a double leg but Wood avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wood continues to drive forward. Lathander tries to land a body kick#TD# and Wood counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wood engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. #T3# Lathander tries to land a sweep but no joy. #SU# Wood decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lathander, up you get! Lathander looks winded! Lathander misses with a takedown attempt and Lathander takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lathander misses with a takedown attempt #CL# and Wood counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Ulysses Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oiva Lathander. Lathander is looking for a takedown. Wood is leaning against Lathander and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Wood goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lathander tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wood just stands there and leans against the cage. Wood's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.#T4# Wood is trying to push Lathander away but Lathander has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Lathander tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wood smiles and moves away.
#TD# Wood is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lathander's half guard. Wood is controlling the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wood scores with a couple of good hammerfists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ulysses Wood dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2# Lathander stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lathander wants it to stay on the feet.#CL2# Lathander fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wood, pushing him back against the cage. Wood jumps guard but Lathander stands there with Wood around his waist. Wood gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've been informed that Lathander has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Lathander fails to pull the fight into his guard.
#TD# Wood ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wood no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. #SUB# Lathander is sitting in close to Wood's body. Wood has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lathander is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lathander is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Wood.

#R1##TD# Lawrence manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lathander on his heels. He'll look to pass Lathander's guard now, I'm sure. Lathander is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lawrence dives into side control.
#REVB# Lawrence takes a little break here. Lathander wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Lathander is looking to reverse the position. Lathander wants to control but Lawrence postures up. Lawrence will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#SUB# Lawrence is working to tighten his grip on Lathander's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lathander has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lawrence is really squeezing tight and eventually Lathander passes out! Lawrence breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Mccullough tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lathander is in Mccullough's guard. Mccullough keeping moving, preventing Lathander from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lathander preventing the sweep. Mccullough wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Lathander wanted to stand there but Mccullough had control of the position.
