#R1# La Rosa dives in for a single leg takedown but Malachi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Killroy La Rosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Malachi avoids the head kick by La Rosa.
Malachi slaps away a takedown attempt from La Rosa, before circling back to the center of the mat. Malachi lands a lovely overhand right.#CUT2# It looks like Killroy La Rosa has been cut.#CL# La Rosa gets in close and instigates a clinch. #BC2# Malachi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Malachi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but La Rosa was well out of range. Poor timing from Malachi. Malachi throws a jab when La Rosa was well out of range. La Rosa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. La Rosa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Malachi sprawls well. Malachi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. La Rosa gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Killroy La Rosa. Malachi thuds his right hand into La Rosa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Malachi cracks La Rosa with an open hand slap. La Rosa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Malachi sees that one coming and sprawls well. He shot from a bit too far out. Malachi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Malachi is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. La Rosa throws a head kick that misses. La Rosa shoots in looking for a takedown. Malachi tries to sprawl out of it but La Rosa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Malachi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Malachi fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops La Rosa to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! La Rosa looks to clinch but Malachi throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! La Rosa taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Samuel is looking for a kimura but La Rosa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Samuel to get the leverage. La Rosa keeping hold of Samuel's head, controlling as best he can. La Rosa regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Samuel. #T1# La Rosa tries to strike from the bottom.

The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! #R3# La Rosa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and La Rosa wants it to stay on the feet. A counter left hand to the body from La Rosa misses its target. Samuel leaves La Rosa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. La Rosa is wriggling around trying to escape.
