It looked like St John wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as St John sprawls well. St John wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sakuraba gets slowly back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
St John throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Sakuraba's jaw, knocking him onto his back! St John dives in looking to finish as Sakuraba flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block St John's strikes! St John is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Sakuraba's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Sakuraba was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

OGrady looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

OGrady drops Sakuraba with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sakuraba looks back up at him and smiles so OGrady waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

A low kick from Sakuraba misses
and OGrady rattles Sakuraba with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Sakuraba tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. OGrady dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Sakuraba stiff and motionless on the mat!
