Vrhovec tries for a takedown but McGillicutty circles away easily and McGillicutty counters with a straight right hand. Vrhovec looks for a takedown but McGillicutty sprawls well. McGillicutty is looking to counter punch. John McGillicutty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gordan Vrhovec. McGillicutty throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vrhovec throws a sloppy head kick and McGillicutty connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vrhovec shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGillicutty but McGillicutty pushes him off and we're back to square one. McGillicutty ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. McGillicutty moves forwards but Ashimov connects with a nice, crisp jab. Ashimov connects with a looping right hand.
McGillicutty uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ashimov. McGillicutty appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. McGillicutty dips to his left and cracks Ashimov with an uppercut! Ashimov throws a body shot but no joy. McGillicutty is looking to counter punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ashimov lands a nice hook to McGillicutty's body. McGillicutty takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Thorn thows a leg kick but McGillicutty checks it and Thorn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McGillicutty ducks down and throws a hook to the body. McGillicutty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McGillicutty moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Thorn - that will leave a mark!
Thorn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McGillicutty scores with a sloppy right hand. Mista should have avoided that one. The crowd cheers as Mc David lands an impressive looking overhand right. McGillicutty doesn't seem phased though. Mc David connects with a body shot that sends McGillicutty's belly button to the back. McGillicutty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. We've been informed that McGillicutty has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
