Boey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but DeAngelo moves away.
DeAngelo missing with a left hand there. Boey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Boey closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. DeAngelo did well to prevent Boey getting side control.
Boey wants to take a breather but DeAngelo is having none of it.

DeAngelo's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Boey is holding on here and DeAngelo must be using up a lot of energy. Boey has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! DeAngelo gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Nguyen tries to clinch there but DeAngelo circles away.
DeAngelo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nguyen .
DeAngelo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nguyen moves away.
Nice takedown defense from DeAngelo. No joy for Nguyen on that attempt.

DeAngelo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nguyen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Nguyen is looking for a sweep. DeAngelo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. DeAngelo connects with a nice short shot to Nguyen 's temple.

Nguyen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DeAngelo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
