Haggus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wright swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wright tries for a takedown but Haggus circles away easily#CL# and Haggus holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Haggus throws a head punch that misses. #TD2# Wright gets a trip takedown into half guard. Wright takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Haggus blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wright. Haggus trying to control but Wright postures up.
Wright seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haggus is trying to maintain the position but Wright is very close to passing his half guard. Well, if Wright is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wright is nestled in close to Haggus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Haggus doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Haggus tries to pull guard but Alela forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Alela lands an uppercut. Haggus wants a takedown but no success here.
Alela misses with a short punch on the inside. Haggus tries to throw a body punch but Alela avoids it by throwing Haggus back against the cage. #BC# Alela manages to break the clinch.
Haggus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alela throwing a counter right hand but Haggus manages to avoid it. Haggus wants to clinch but Alela slips to the side and Alela counters with a lovely straight right hand! Alela tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Haggus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Haggus smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Alela sizes up Haggus with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Alela has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Haggus tries to clinch and Haggus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Haggus throws a big shot that misses. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Haggus. Alela steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Haggus. Alela is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Haggus appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Alela throws a nice inside leg kick. The fighters circle momentarily. Haggus darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Alela cracks Haggus with a good jab. Alela throws a sloppy head kick and Haggus moves out of range easily. Haggus misses with a shot to the body and Alela counters with a stiff right hand. Alela keeps the fight on the outside. Haggus tries to close the distance and clinch but Alela swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Haggus misses with a body shot

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alela feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hagguss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Haggus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alela tries to avoid it but Haggus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alela to the ground. Alela escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #CL# Alela clinches with his opponent.

Alela does a little dance to reset his feet. Haggus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alela sprawls well. Alela wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alela presses Haggus against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Haggus missing with knees to the body.

Pearse is looking to clinch. Haggus swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Pearse misses with the body kick#TD# and Haggus counters with a nice double leg into guard. Pearse looking for a sweep. Not yet Pearse, not yet. Haggus lands a couple of decent looking shots. Pearse preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pearse looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Haggus postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Haggus passes easily into side control. Nice work. Haggus works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Haggus in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Haggus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Haggus looks up at the clock and then as Pearse takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Haggus smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Pearse is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! We've been hearing that Haggus has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Pearse tries to improve position but can't. Haggus half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Fotherby tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Haggus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Fotherby pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Haggus back to the cage. Fotherby follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Haggus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fotherby.

Macrae looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Macrae throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Haggus on the side of the head. Macrae lands a slapping body shot.
