#R1# Norambuena swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yurk counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Norambuena looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Yurk misses with a wild combination.
Norambuena is looking to counter with head kicks. Yurk tries to clinch but Norambuena is having none of it. Yurk shoots in but no luck this time. Yurk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Yurk lands a jab-cross combination. Yurk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Norambuena pinned against the cage. Norambuena gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yurk's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Yurk duly obliges. #CL# Norambuena moves into range and clinches up with Yurk.#T1# Yurk is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Norambuena is defending well. Varela tries to clinch up.#CL# Norambuena closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Norambuena is trying to pull guard but Varela turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.#TD2# Varela ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Varela no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Varela wants to stand up but Norambuena is controlling him. Varela looking to control.
Varela wants to get back to his feet but Norambuena is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norambuena throws a big elbow that misses. Norambuena has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Varela is on top in guard.

That will dishearten Varela somewhat. Varela will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Norambuena. Norambuena is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Norambuena. That's going to take a lot out of him. Varela shoots for a double leg takedown but Norambuena sprawls well. He's pushed Varela 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Varela fails with the takedown and Norambuena counters with an outside leg kick.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Norambuena dives in and grabs Varela 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Varela pushes down on Norambuena's head and hops out. Varela is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Varela looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Norambuena is fending him off so far but Varela persists. Nope, Norambuena circles away and we're back to standing. Norambuena swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hamdi. Hamdi misses with a takedown attempt #CL2# and Norambuena counters by moving into the clinch. Hamdi is pressed up against the cage. Norambuena has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hamdi down to the mat. Hamdi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Hamdi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Norambuena swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tarek Hamdi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Norambuena fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Norambuena has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Hamdi avoids the head kick by Norambuena.
