Michaels tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wheeler swats him away and circles back towards the center. Michaels wants to clinch. Wheeler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Michaels throws a body kick that misses #TD# and Wheeler counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Michaels! Michaels is looking for a sweep. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sanchez tries to kick Wheeler off but Wheeler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Wheeler trying to pass the guard but Sanchez defending well. Sanchez is trying to control but Wheeler manages to pass to mount!
Sanchez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sanchez is desperately trying to improve his position but Wheeler has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
