Scacchi takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Scacchi is breathing heavily.
Kowal throws a shot from downtown. Scacchi moves away and avoids it.
Kowal misses with a looping left.
Scacchi defending well as Kowal loads up on a big left hand.
Kowal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scacchi circles away quickly and effectively.
Scacchi closes the distance but Kowal moves to the side #KD2#
and Kowal counters with a nice right hand that sends Scacchi toppling to the canvas! Scacchi scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kowal finish him?!#CUT2#
It looks like Brian Scacchi has been cut.
Kowal's coach down at FIERCE - {{$750}} - 15 Elite Coaches was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kowal's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kowal tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Mika lands an elbow inside that Kowal shrugs off. #CUT2#

Mika lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kowal backwards.

Kowal looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Kowal is rocked!
Mika creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Kowal with a big uppercut! Kowal tries to clinch up but Mika pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Kowal to the mat! Kowal covers up and Mika unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Nice uppercut lands for Lefebvre. That snapped Kowal's head back.
Lefebvre closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kowal circles away.
Lefebvre looks to land a combination. Kowal sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kowal takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Francois Joseph Lefebvre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lefebvre is defended easily by Kowal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kowal counters with a crisp one two that drops Lefebvre! Kowal thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Lefebvre to his feet! Lefebvre is in big trouble!

Lefebvre goes for a double leg but Kowal avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kowal continues to drive forward.

Lefebvre uses his free foot to push down on Kowal's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kowal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kowal is bucking up trying to escape but Lefebvre cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Poor strikes thrown by Lefebvre there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Kowal is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Lefebvre cracks Kowal with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rogan with a poor takedown
and Kowal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rogan blocks a jab.
Rogan shoots in looking for a takedown but Kowal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rogan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kowal feints a jab promting Rogan to slip. Kowal then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rogan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#CUT#
It looks like Derek Rogan has been cut.
Rogan dives in and grabs Kowal's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kowal pushes down on Rogan's head and hops out.
Alojzy Kowal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Rogan.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rogan or perhaps it was just good defense by Kowal, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kowal defend it? Rogan steps over the head and cranks it - Kowal is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rogan!

A little feinted left hand from Kowal on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Rutten fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kowal has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kowal throws a good cross that connects.
Rutten misses with a head kick.
Kowal walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Kowal looks to score with a jab to the body but Rutten is just out of range.
Rutten throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

A swing and a miss from Rutten.
Kowal blocks a head kick by Rutten.
Rutten throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kowal ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Rutten out cold! The fight is over!

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Kowal tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kowal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #TD2#
Smith closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kowal quickly recovers to half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Kowal's temple.

Smith lands a big elbow - Kowal is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Smith!
