and Mccullough counters with a three punch combo that has First backing up. First nods at Mccullough to acknowledge the strikes. Mccullough shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as First sprawls well. First wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mccullough gets slowly back to his feet. Mr First seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. First misses with a series of wild punches.
It looked like Mccullough was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. First swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mccullough's hands are dropping dangerously low here and First connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mccullough scrambles back to his feet. First throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. First lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Lawrence wants to sweep here but First controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. First stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawrence swivels though and keeps the full guard. First content to stall in guard here. First stopping the sweep attempt from Lawrence. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. First wants to get up but he can't break Lawrence's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. First must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. First is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Lawrence tries to land a sweep but no joy. #T1# Lawrence is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top.
