Smith is looking to take a break and control but Melton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Melton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Melton works his way to full guard. Good work. Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Melton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Melton's legs - danger averted.#SUB# Melton is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Melton extends and breaks Smith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! #R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Melton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gyu Yeob feints the counter takedown. Melton shoots for a double leg takedown but Gyu Yeob sprawls well. He's pushed Melton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. #CL# Melton clinches up against the cage. Gyu Yeob can't get the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Melton successfully pulls guard.

He'll look to pass Gyu Yeob's guard now, I'm sure. Melton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Melton with a nice head shot there. Melton controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T3# Gyu Yeob is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Melton dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Linus seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Linus looking for a sweep. Not yet Linus, not yet. Linus trying to control the position here. Linus is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Linus pulls Melton in close to his closed guard and prevents Melton from doing any damage or advancing position. Linus tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Linus looking to control.
Linus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Melton keeps control of the position for the meantime. #SUB# Melton looking for submissions off his back.#T1# Linus is controlling the pace.

Melton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ortiz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Melton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Melton working the head and body with strikes. Melton is pushing Manaia up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Come on Melton - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Melton swings wildly with an uppercut but Manaia uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Melton has Manaia pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Melton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Manaia tumbling to the mat - Melton dives into Manaia's guard. Manaia is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Melton dives into side control.
