#R1# Mason misses with an uppercut. Barrera saw that one coming. Mason defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barrera. Barrera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mason pinned against the cage. Mason gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Barrera shoots for a double leg takedown but Mason sprawls well. He's pushed Barrera's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Barrera. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barrera closes the distance but Mason moves to the side and Mason counters with a lovely shot to the body. Jab by Mason. Mason fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barrera looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Mason scores with a jab to the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barrera looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mason looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Mason throws a big shot that misses. Barrera looks to land a body kick but Mason moved away. Mason throws out a counter right but Barrera avoids it with no problem.#T1# Barrera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mason tries to avoid it but Barrera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mason to the ground. Mason escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Barrera moves out of range of the strikes. Barrera drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mason sprawls and moves away. Mason slaps away a takedown attempt from Barrera, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mason jabs at Barrera's body. The fighters circling - Mason throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Barrera with a poor takedown and Mason counters with a stiff right hand. Barrera is breathing heavily. Mason defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barrera. Mason's jab looks to have found its range, popping Barrera under the eye. Barrera goes for a double leg but Mason avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mason continues to drive forward. Mason lands with an overhand left. Mason lands a really nice looking cross but Barrera seems unphased.
#ROC2# Barrera is rocked! Mason walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Barrera drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Mason swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Barrera's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
