Parnasse tries to land a body kick#TD# and Umarov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Umarov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Umarov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Parnasse keeping moving, preventing Umarov from controlling successfully. Parnasse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Parnasse is trying to control the position but Umarov postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Umarov trying to control but Parnasse is working from the bottom. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.#T1# Umarov landing with the ground and pound. Umarov prevents Parnasse from getting back to his feet. Umarov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Umarov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Parnasse is trying to control the position but Umarov postures up. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Parnasse fails with a takedown attempt. Umarov taking some punishment here, with Parnasse in his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parnasse stops Umarov from getting back to his feet.

#R1# Umarov misses with a head kick.
No joy there for Hlali, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
#CL# Hlali tries to keep at a distance but Umarov has taken the fight into the clinch. Hlali is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Umarov is keeping busy. Hlali using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Umarov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Umarov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hlali just stands there and leans against the cage. Hlali wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Umarov is trying to pull guard but Hlali turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Umarov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hlali is defending well for now.#TD# Umarov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hlali uses from the top position. Hlali wants to control from the top but Umarov keeps moving. Oh no! Umarov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Umarov tries to get out of the position.#T2##SUB2# Hlali jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Umarov manages to avoid the submission attempt. #SUB2# Hlali has an Americana. Umarov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hlali is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hlali hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

#R1##CL2# Umarov drives through and clinches with Taranaki against the cage.
Taranaki has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Taranaki is trying to maintain a safe position but Umarov gets an underhook and turns Taranaki into the cage. Umarov gets underhooks to prevent Taranaki's takedown attempt.
#TD2# Umarov manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Umarov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. #SUB2# Umarov has his foot on Taranaki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taranaki works his way back into a safe position though. Taranaki forces his way into half guard. Umarov desperately trying to maintain half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Umarov tries to roll over but Taranaki keeps him under control.#T1##SUB# Taranaki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Umarov is just riding it out for now. Taranaki eventually gives up the hold. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Umarov can do anything to dispel that myth. Umarov wants to control but Taranaki is keeping busy.

Taranaki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Umarov is looking to escape. Umarov is desperately trying to improve his position but Taranaki has a good base and remains in mount. Umarov wants to hold on but Taranaki pushes him away. Taranaki wants to control the pace but Umarov is squirming around nicely. Umarov can't escape the position.

#T3# Umarov trying to control the action but Taranaki just sinks the hooks in. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Will Taranaki go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
You can see the frustration on Umarov's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
